From the start, Frank was very helpful, communications were excellent from deciding upon tours... read more to the day prior to our excursion. We have just done the Volcano Mega Combo and it was a fantastic day and all at very reasonable price. Frank contacted the day before our trip confirming that our guide would be Marvin and sent us his photo so we knew who to look for on the beach. Marvin was prompt, friendly and very informative. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after, he is a credit to the company and works very hard. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking to explore the local area. Don't be put off that they aren't the bigger tour operators, I'd much prefer to support local companies and these guys do a top job. We are certainly looking forward to our next 2 trips with Costa Rica Unique Transfers and Tours.

  We booked 3 tours & 3 transfers before our arrival with Jose at Breeze Private Residences. Upon arrival, we were told they must be paid in cash or there would... read more be a credit card service fee which could've been communicated in advance. Jose then dialed the catamaran company, turns out none of our tours were confirmed and we had to do last minute shuffling. Turns out there is no ride in a nice shuttle to the catamaran tour either, just a vague instruction to find your way to the ocean (rent a $45 golf cart) stand at a dock at 1:45pm and they will find you. Turns out, no one came for us and the employees of the other catamaran companies helped us call around to find out who was supposed to pick us up. The next day we took the Canopy Tour. Andre our driver drove us, but did not come back to pick us up. It became apparent we were the last guests there which sent the tour company scrambling to find a personal vehicle and driver to take us back to our resort. The zipline guy, who did not speak English, drove us back in his boss' car but he did not know where our resort was which made for an interesting time trying to translate. When I emailed Jose, he had an excuse that the ride back was pre-arranged and they were paid to do so. We actually had a fantastic tour guide for the beach tour, don't remember his name. It was strange though that he was taking pictures of my kids during surfing lessons and had a photographer friend also taking photos, but none of them were offered to us and to this day after several requests, we still do not have those photos, Why were they taking pictures of my minor children? Jose said he'd ask the tour guide to send them to me via WhatsApp, never happened. Kind of creepy feeling. We arranged a shuttle to take us to our second destination, the JW Marriott in Tamarindo. Our driver, again Andre, went to the wrong hotel! We pulled up at the Westin and he began to argue with us that it was the JW, then called someone and began laughing. He then explained, "sorry folks! Another 25 minutes!" It was insulting and very unprofessional! We prearranged a shuttle take us back to the Liberia Airport and that driver was amazing, he drove with purpose and got to the right place AND on time! We also hired a family photographer through Jose, to take pictures at the Beach Club with Pura Vida Photography and arranged to rent the golf cart to get to our 10am appointment on time. I emailed Jose to confirm but when my husband showed up to the office to pick up the golf cart, it was not there and nor was Jose. Someone else was at his desk that day and said no golf cart, just take the shuttle instead. It was SO frustrating, after confirming and taking the long hot walk to the office it still wasn't done correctly! Photos turned out amazing though, recommend Natalie. We spent a LOT of money, plus fees on tours and it was stressful to worry if we were showing up at the right place with little to no information, if there would be a shuttle there to take us back or if the shuttle would even take us to the correct place at all! Considering the resort was at low capacity and we were traveling post-covid we were expecting great service, but were very disappointed. Jose's emails were often days later, if at all and with no apology or offer for our trouble. …

  Fantastic!! This is what you call a real tour (A++ to Daniel & Luis!!!) Now, mind you, this tour is authentic in that you are in Costa Rica... read more doing activities with the locals! This is not a typical tourist excursion where you are belt lined around "tourist like locations" where ALL the other tourists are. Daniel is the man!

The rainforest hike and hanging bridges: Be in shape and get ready to HIKE. My Mother in Law (67) struggled but made it. This is not for the faint of heart. I myself (43) slept like a baby after this amazing event!

The sanctuary: HOLY COW!! Christian was our guide, he found us frogs, bats, birds, and most importantly......perezozos........SLOTHS (5 to be exact).

These locals were kind! They were friendly!! They made this very special for my family!!

You won't regret this tour! My family will be back in a couple months to do more with these awesome folks ^^
